Bodnant Garden, near Conwy (a National Trust property) April 5 truly stunning. (They say "brilliant" here. Everything is brilliant.) Trees from Victorian times.

Below: Yes, a sequoia in the back ground. We've seen several. They seem to like it here.

Below: Following week, April 11 Port Meirion. Wilbur knows the history. Some people think it's fakey like Epcot Center, but I call it a garden, really takes advantage of its site on the estuary.

A little Disneyesque, but Wilbur thinks the detailing is really stupendous. These are shapes that really appeal to him. Also discovered the gallery of Rob Biercy, watercolorist, whose studio we visited (and book we bought).

(below) Same afternoon, "high tea" in Castle Deudrath (none of this is spelled right as you can imagine). It's a commercial hotel, not all that expensive, but once again, truly lovely.
And what do you know, a Morgan rally in the parking lot.

Below: Plas Newyadd April 13 -- Manor House on Menai Strait, but I think it also qualifies as a garden.

Sam, note the primitive splint. Still splinting it at end of April, too. Holly, note red coat over arm.

Below: Powis Castle Garden 4.25

(August is the month for this garden apparently.)
